The Voting Has Just Begun for Best Games

While the political elections have come and gone, voting has just opened up for the fourth annual SpikeTV Video Game Awards (VGAs). Gamers can go to Spiketv.com and vote in 28 different categories, ranging from "Game of the Year" to "Best Cast" to "Most Addictive." Once all of your votes are tallied, SpikeTV will tape the show in Los Angeles on December 8 at the USC Galen Center. The show will debut on SpikeTV on December 13 in a two-hour block.

Because there are so many Hollywood actors and big bands in games today, these categories have been created to infuse the show with star power. Samuel L. Jackson will host the show for the second time. And Hollywood names that will attend include Johnny Depp, James Gandolfini, James Woods, Patrick Stewart, Kiefer Sutherland, and Brittany Murphy.

The big games of the show, in terms of nominations, are "Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion," which had 10 nominations including "Game of the Year" and "Most Addictive." Local developer Epic Games earned six nominations for "Gears of War" including "Studio of the Year" and "Game of the Year."

Make sure you vote for your favorite games and watch the show. There will be a slew of new game trailers debuting on the broadcast, just like last year.
