EA Takes Def Jam Next Gen
Electronic Arts is bringing its best-selling "Def Jam" game franchise to Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in March 2007. "Def Jam: Icon" is the latest game developed in Chicago in collaboration with Def Jam Interactive.The fighting franchise will feature a long list of hip hop stars like Ludacris, Big Boi, and T.I. who will be playable characters in the game. For the first time in the series, music and rythmn will be incorporated into the fighting mechanics of the gameplay. In addition, the environments will be more interactive than past brawlers with more hazards.
The new game will allows gamers to live the life of a hip hop mogul, going from rags to riches. Those riches will come from beating down opponents. Each of the hip hop stars featured in the new game will have unique fighting styles. New controls will better replicate these styles, making each fighter feel unique.
For those who don't want to wait until March, "Def Jam Vendetta" and "Def Jam: Fight for New York" are currently available on current generation consoles. All of these games are rated Mature for violence and language.
